How To Replace A Kitchen Sink Sprayer
In this video this old house plumbing and heating contractor richard trethewey explains how to repair a kitchen sink sprayer.
How to replace a kitchen sink sprayer. Loosen cap behind faucets spout with pliers. The body of the housing may turn with the nut so you will have to hold it steady as you loosen the nut. With the hose disconnected from the faucet pull the sprayer hose up and out from above the sink. Take the sprayer head and hose with you to the home improvement or hardware store to purchase a replacement sprayer.
From underneath the sink put a friction washer over the tailpiece. Turn off hot and cold water at the shut off valves under sink. The solution usually involves replacing either the spray head or the spray head and hose together. Sink sprayers can develop leaks just like any other water line but theyre trickier to spot.
Protect chrome cap with a rag. Screw the mounting nut onto the tailpiece and tighten it with a basin wrench or with a pair of slip joint pliers.
